Welcome to Zavot Village, Teacher and Culture House!
Zavot KÖK was designed to make visible the memory of village schools, teaching experiences, and local educational practices, and to open up space for today's rural education discussions. We aim to offer visitors an open learning space with original educational materials and oral history narratives, host workshops, talks, and screenings designed around a hands-on learning approach, and thus bring together educators, researchers, students, and villagers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Traditional livestock farming methods are facing the threat of extinction worldwide due to capitalist agriculture and food policies, industrialization, the climate crisis, and pressures from global markets. We are building an international network to rebuild the future of traditional pasture and forest livestock farming (broadly defined as “pastoralism”), with a particular focus on transhumance and shepherding.
The historic stone building in Boğatepe village, which served as a primary school between 1961 and 1995 and was originally built by the village people through collective effort (imece), has been revitalized through a story of communal solidarity: Zavot KÖK is opening its doors!
Today, we are taking an exciting new step in our project, the "Zavot KÖK (Village Teacher, Culture and Art Center) Rural Memory and Learning Center," which was launched to pass our village’s rich history and cultural heritage on to future generations: We are Creating Our Digital Village Archive!
