This project is one of the finest examples of how ÇEVDER's pioneering work in Boğatepe has inspired other rural organizations in the region. The main objective of the project was to document the rich medicinal plant flora of the Susuz district (formerly known as Cilavuz) in Kars, raise awareness among the local population, and create new sources of income by revealing the region's nature and health tourism potential. As part of the project, in addition to research on the region's plant diversity, educational seminars were organized, particularly for women, on how these plants can be used for health purposes.
The most tangible outcome of this valuable fieldwork was the guidebook titled “Kars Plants / A Gift from Cilavuz Nature,” published in 2014. While not claiming to be a detailed botanical guide, this work serves as a valuable first step for more comprehensive research on the region's flora.
